I have never been able to figure out how the water company knows how much water I have been using. I know that they have water meters in the house because I have seen them. The problem is that I never see a meter reader or have anyone come by to go into my basement to read my meter. I recently learned that the new water meters are electronic and can be read in a number of inconspicuous ways. I have even heard form some friends that they can just drive by the house and a signal will be sent letting them know what usage I have made.
