The most common musculoskeleteal problem seen in podiatry clinics all over the world is what we called the plantar fascitis. A strong ligament that connects the heel bone to the ball of the foot is the plantar fascia – its runs along the whole plantar surface of the foot and its role is to hole the arch of the foot up. So now you could really imagine the load on this structure, especially if someone is overweight, plays a lot of sport or the calf muscles are tight. The pain under the heel the most common symptom of plantar fasciitis, which is usually worse after getting out of bed first thing in the morning or after rest.
