Aberfeldy is an attractive small town with a wide range of shops, restaurants and hotels.  Just up the road towards Crieff is the Birks of Aberfeldy, a delightful beauty spot with walks to viewpoints over the waterfalls.  There’s an indoor swimming pool nearby as well though a bit chilly in the winter, and summer come to think of it!!.  The bridge at Aberfeldy was built by General Wade during the pacification of the Highlands.

Great tools to have on these walks are GPS and altimeter barometer watches. They can provide accurate weather prediction and other usefull navigational information make ing your work much more pleasureable. A product of my choice is the Suunto Core in Black and Green colour. So next point your digital compass in the direction of Kenmore a village at the foot of Loch Tay, where the River Tay sets off on its long journey to the sea at Dundee.
