The many Chinese restaurant owners in Russia are the second largest category of victims of extortion by not using the Sponsored Family Visitor Visa. Some accounts of the Chinese organized crime involvement in the murder and robbery show that violent crimes often directed against Chinese colleagues during the deadly feud between gangs or “shakedowns” of Chinese merchants. Although some violence occurs between non-Chinese and Chinese criminal groups, usually with the territory of their Russian counterparts territorial disputes are avoided, because the Chinese groups migrate mainly to fool the Chinese community, which is not a Russian group of organized crime.
